Salaries in the Music Industry

Via music industry blog Hypebot, I came across a recent study published by Berklee College of Music regarding salaries within the music industry.

I skimmed the study, focusing mainly on positions I’m interested in, such as public relations and marketing. I found the salaries listed for PR and marketing positions to be not too shabby, but at the same time the salary estimate was generally quite broad.

For instance, the salary for a public relations specialist was listed from $25,000 – $200,000. I wonder what kind of job will land you the latter salary.

The study also pointed out emerging career paths. Any guesses as to what is listed first in the business aspect of the industry? Why, yes, it is indeed social media. GREAT GUESS. YOU ROCK.

You can find the report in its entirety here.
